Formerly known as the Innovation Centre, this award-winning 100,000 sq ft facility merges new construction with the revitalization of a century-old building to create a dynamic space for applied research, entrepreneurship, and modern learning environments.

Our team contributed to the building’s energy goals by designing a rooftop solar system projected to reduce annual energy consumption by 18%. We also integrated innovative Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) into the façade - coloured solar glass panels that shift in appearance depending on the angle, combining energy generation with architectural impact. Achieving a target Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of 100 required precise coordination, energy modelling, and careful planning.

The lighting design enhances both form and function. Inside, architectural lighting highlights the agora’s spatial geometry, promoting collaboration and intuitive wayfinding. Outside, in the Elgin Avenue Plaza, custom wall-mounted fixtures and low-level lighting create a calm, welcoming environment, defining space and encouraging gathering.
