The redevelopment and expansion of the former Winnipeg Convention Centre added 340,000 sq ft of new space, doubling the facility’s size and significantly enhancing its underground parking infrastructure.

Designed for flexibility, the upgraded space meets the needs of modern events with advanced systems, including integrated mechanical controls, a high efficiency cascading hydronic heating system, and DMX lighting controls that allow for customizable ambiance throughout the venue.
A key feature is the 24,000 sq ft York Ballroom, an adaptable space that can be partitioned into multiple zones, each with its lighting scheme. Specialty lighting extends through expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing, creating a dynamic visual presence at street level and elevating the guest experience.

With the capacity to host over 10,000 people on a single floor, life safety was a critical consideration. Our team collaborated closely with regulatory authorities to implement robust fire hardening, advanced smoke detection, and innovative smoke management strategies.
The project achieved LEED Silver certification, highlighting its commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable design.
