The illuminated wave of kinetic panels on the façade of the National Research Council of Canada's Advanced Manufacturing Research facility in Winnipeg, MB is a dynamic expression of the new technology that the facility embodies.

Setting the tone for the innovative high-tech automotive and aerospace research of the National Research Council, the illumination also enables the public to see inside the individual labs from the exterior to further promote the program’s mandate for openness and transparency.
During the Integrated Design Process, our full-scale lighting mock-ups inspired the architectural team to transform the daylight presence of this lab through an interplay of dynamic light colour temperatures that distinguish between the structure of the building behind the flowing kinetic panels.

This creative design highlights the innovative spirit of this state-of-the-art research-based manufacturing facility.
