Located in remote northeast Manitoba, the God’s Lake Nursing Station is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility designed to meet the needs of the community. The 16,700 sq ft building includes a modern emergency department, radiology suite, and exam rooms, offering a comprehensive range of medical services. The facility also features an on-site pharmacy, dental clinic, lab, offices, and community health education spaces, all designed with local accessibility in mind.

Given the remote location, where specialized equipment and service personnel can be days away, the design prioritizes ease of maintenance, durability, and operational reliability. To ensure continuous operation during utility failures, the emergency department is supported by parallel redundant mechanical systems and an emergency generator backup. Energy efficiency is a key focus, with two central exhaust heat recovery systems, a building automation system for monitoring, and LED lighting throughout the facility.

An adjacent 8,800 sq ft residence with 13 suites provides comfortable housing for staff, offering individual control over heating and cooling, which supports the station’s self-sufficiency.
